Army National Guard Retired Verteran

 

 Chief Warrant Officer 3 Edgar “Allen” Castle has served in the Army National Guard since April 1983, when graduating from Pasco Comprehensive High School in Dade City, Florida. As a Florida National Guard member, he has served on state active-duty orders 5 times, two riots and 3 hurricanes, to include Hurricane Andrew in 1992.

In 1998, he relocated to Northeast Tennessee, where he took a civilian job and had 15 years of service in the National Guard.  He wanted to stay and finish his 20 years. With the Tennessee National Guard, he has been deployed for two more hurricanes. He also has a tour in Iraq for Operation Iraqi Freedom III (OIF III) 2004-2005. He was again deployed to Kuwait in 2021-2022, and has attended the following schools: Basic Non-Commissioned Officers Course (BNCOC), Advanced Non-Commissioned Officers Course (ANCOC), Joint Operational Fires and Effects Course (JOFEC), Warrant Officer Candidate School (WOCS), Warrant Officers Basic Course (WOBC), Warrant Officer Advance Course (WOAC), Advanced Field Artillery Tactical Data System (AFATDS), Collateral Damage Estimation (CDE), EFFECTS MANAGEMENT TOOLS course (EMTc)

His awards and decorations include; Bronze Star Medal (1), Combat Action Badge, Army Achievement Medal (1), Army Good Conduct Medal (4), Iraq Service Medal (1), Army Reserve Components Achievement Medal (8), National Defense Service Medal (2), Humanitarian Service Medal (2), Army Armed Forces Reserve Medal (1), Army NON-Commissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon (3), Army Overseas Service Ribbon (1), Army Commendation Medal (3), National Guard Recruitment Badge (1), Global War on Terrorism (1), Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal (1) Iraq Campaign Medal (1), Army Service Ribbon(1).

Allen Castle was the Targeting Officer for the State of Tennessee Army National Guard, when he retired with 41 years and 4 months in August 2024. He has retired from Walmart with 30yrs of service, starting unloading truck working his way to Area Shop Manager. His duties include supervising and overseeing the servicing of all trucks and trailers assigned to his shop. His additional duties include overseeing and budgeting all Capital expense projects at the shop. 

His volunteer work consists of overseeing and coordinating the Wreaths Across America program. Working closely with the volunteers and coordinators of the 5 Veterans Cemeteries in East Tennessee. To raise money with the goal of covering every veteran's tombstone with a Wreath for Christmas.

 

He is honored to serve as the Director of Transportation and Instructor for the Student Cadet Leadership Program at Freedom Christian Academy.
