Marissa Ledbetter  was born and raised in Western North Carolina, but her family desired to find
somewhere with a small-town lifestyle to call home. They found that in Greeneville, TN approximately
five years ago. She and her husband of almost 28-years met in high school and were married upon
graduation. They have two children, Reece and Landon. Reece was homeschooled through graduation,
and Landon is currently being homeschooled with a graduation date of 2025. The family enjoys
spending time together camping, hiking, fishing, and playing board games with the newest members of
their family, a daughter-in-law and grandson. Marissa’s hobbies include writing, cooking, baking,
crafting, and playing the violin.

She enjoys continuing to gain knowledge and learn new skills. She has completed training in
Cosmetology, NC Real Estate, and Interior Design. She has a passion for creative writing and has
graduated from the Writing for Children and Teenagers course of study with the Institute of Children’s
Literature. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Law from Western
Carolina University in North Carolina, where she studied topics such as financial and managerial
accounting, marketing, management, business law, and business administration.

Her professional background has ranged from retail management, to being a cosmetologist, to
purchasing and maintaining a website for a Halloween store. She is a certified pharmacy technician and
has been working for a long-term care pharmacy in Western North Carolina for the past 15 years as an
Order Entry Supervisor. She has a small home-based business making and selling handcrafted items
online, at a vintage market, and at vendor markets.

She is excited to teach children and help them get excited about learning. Her teaching style is a
hands-on approach to help your children retain the information they are studying. She feels allowing
your children to be involved in their classwork, in an inviting environment, will help them enjoy learning
for years to come.

Marissa is honored to serve as the Student Life Department Head and a Cross-Disciplinary Instructor at Freedom Christian Academy.
