Tennessee College of Applied Technology Alumni??????
Marlia Gallaher was born and raised in the Great Smoky Mountains of East Tennessee, where she and her husband, Zack Gallaher, are now raising their two sons along with four beloved pets—two dogs, Sam and Marshall, and two bunnies, Theo and Athena.
Since 2015, Marlia and her family have attended Freedom Fellowship in White Pine. Her husband began playing guitar on the worship team, and Marlia later joined as a vocalist.
She firmly believes she was created to create.
Marlia’s artistic journey began early—starting with her Etch-A-Sketch at the age of four. While both of her parents supported her creative expression, it was her father, a talented carpenter with a strong creative spirit, who became her greatest source of motivation and inspiration. Her mother, known for her whimsical stick-figure cats, also added to that encouragement.
By the age of twelve, Marlia was well known among her peers, teachers, and friends as the class “doodler.” Teachers would request her help decorating classroom doors, friends invited her over after school for sketching lessons, and that same year, she and her father helped design and build a float for the school parade. It was also at this age that Marlia gave her life to Jesus.
On September 13, 2020, she was baptized at Freedom Fellowship in White Pine by Pastor Dustin Wallace, a close family friend.
Today, when she’s not in the art studio, Marlia can often be found in a local coffee shop or hiking the mountain trails. After 5 p.m., though, she’s most likely cozied up on the couch in a “blanket burrito.”
Marlia is excited and honored to be a part of Freedom Christian Academy and looks forward to the adventures ahead.
“But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace towards me was not in vain.”
— 1 Corinthians 15:10
